Independence Day

Well...Hope you all had a great 4th of July. It was a very long day, but we had a lot of fun. I will start with pictures from our July 4th parade that my office participated in.

Our nicely decorated first truck

Peyton not too happy about being amogst the

strangers

The whole group

Getting this show on the road and probably my

last view of our caravan

The "Queen B" (manager)

We really had a good time at the parade. We decorated 4 trucks, had a moped and a motorcycle. The plan was to have some people walking to hand out these paddle ball things we had and some american flags. Well, the reason I described the above picture the last contact made with the caravan is because I got out and walked....I looked up and our group was out of sight. Me and 2 other girls were left in the dust. We walked for about a half a mile and had to call Steve who was driving one of the trucks to turn out of the group and come back and get us. The parade was moving way too fast for walkers. Note to self: next year... NO WALKERS. I probably did have one opportunity to catch up, but I would have had to sprint. If any of you know Lake Country, there are a lot of hills. I and the other girls were already winded. Oh well...we managed to get back in line to finish the parade...out away from the rest of the group, but nonetheless. I overheard one of the boys standing in the parade "how many Century 21's are there." hehe.....because he had already seen all of my group, and then probably another Century 21 office, and then us in Steve's truck. LOL Steve's folks came and took Peyton to the parade so she could catch candy. We got a little screwed up in how to get Peyton back, so they ended up having to wait on us. Sorry mom and jim, but thanks for taking Peyton to the parade.

So after the parade we had time to come home and chill a little bit. Good thing. We were so hot and hungry. We then boogied on out to my Dad's for our annual party. The annual July 4th party, which we have done for like 10 years straight, is starting to have run its course. Not many others show up anymore. Where years ago we had tons of people there at one time. People want to mix up how they spend their 4th. I am one of those. I would like to rent a boat or do something different next year. I am trying to make dad understand...the party has run its course. We'll see if he tries again next year. Here are some pics from swimming at Dad's.

The goggles are for looks. Ash won't put her

head in the water. lol

Really..the cutest smile that girl has.

The floaties had to go back on after a while. We

were tired of being nervous and having to keep

constant eyes on her.

Even Murray swims

Cutie pies

So then after swimming, eating and hanging out we all worked our way up to the Bedford fireworks. We have a spot up the street from our dad's that we always watch from. Eat watermelon and get eaten by bugs. ha They were actually pretty good this year. Last year they kind of stunk. But here are a few pics of us hanging out waiting on fireworks.

Peyton, Ash and one of their new little friends.

So as you can see we had a very good time. We all slept like rocks. We didn't do much today. I had a showing at 11am, did a little work and then we just messed around all day. Tonight we went to dinner with the Linder's minus Brian, and the Harris'. We then commensed to play poker. I lost. Shocker. Steve did win last hand. That was $8. Maybe he made up for my shorcomings. ha

Hope you all are enjoying your weekend. Sydney is still in WA D.C. with Kev's sister and family. Sounds like she is having fun! We missed her yesterday.

Ally - we enjoyed the parade and especially being with Peyton on the parade route. She had so much fun. Her biggest thing was running for all the candy and toys that were thrown to all the kids. She kept saying "Oh, Nana I had so much fun today!" No more fun than we had watching her.

We didn't do much on the 4th - went home and did hotdogs on the grill and swam all afternoon - we were really tired and really, really slept.

Well - gotta go - have a good one -LOL - Nana
