The Flu in all its glory

Oh lordie. Poor Peyton! My baby girl has been sick all week. Monday afternoon...I could tell she wasn't her self, but was fine. We met some friends for dinner Mon. night and She immediately went downhill. She was shaking like a leaf. That is my sign that she has a fever. We quickly ate, and headed home. Tues. She just layed around and didn't have the fever return until that evening. Wed. morning I took her to the dr. Confirmed....the flu. Crap! So I have been home with the sick little girl since. It's weird, because she seems to do pretty well during the day, and then tanks at night. Today she has been coughing her little head off. And to boot, I am having trouble with her taking her medicine. I never have problems with that. She loves her medicine. She could hit her arm on the table and ask if she can have her medicine. The Tamiflu medicine must really taste bad. I tried mixing it with the pink motrin she likes, then she gave me a hard time taking the pink medicine. This morning I tried putting it in orange juice...she frowned upon that. Then tonight I put it in milk because she had been asking for milk. The medicine is white, so I thought the milk would mask it a little more. That girl is too smart for her own good. She took one sip...looked at it, and said "did somebody put something in this"..."Yuck..this taste different." LOL. oh man! Then the motrin and the cough medicine had to be poored down her throat. She would not drink it. We had to do it last night too. It is a very messy and sad experience. She screams, cries, kicks and screams. She just in general is not acting herself. Poor baby.

Steve and I have been trying very hard not to catch her illness. It does not look like fun. I can't get sick. I have a convention in San Antonio on the 9th I must go to. Already paid for and all! I will be pissed, I know that!

Otherwise, that's all I know. It has been a very boring week here at home. I have been napping and drinking lots of fluids and have gone through a jar of hand sanitizer. Did a little work, played on the computer...that's it! ha Not a lot of fun! But glad I am able to be here for Peyton. She's wanted her Mommy this week.

Hope ya'll have a good weekend!

And the winner is...Slumbdog Millionaire

Good God! How many Oscars do you think that movie won tonight. Gets a little boring when the same people are going up to recieve their trophy. Never seen it, so I don't know what all the fuss is.
Hope ya'll had a good weekend. We had a pretty good weekend. Pretty boring, but good. People...I need a client. While I am very happy to have my weekends free, it also means I don't have any business. Catch 22, but If I ain't workin', I have no prospect of money.
Friday night....nothing much at all. Gee...what did we do. Humm...Oh yes...went to Jobo's hamburgers. ha That's it, I think. Then Sat. morning Steve went to work and I took Peyton to a birthday party for some twin girls that are in her class. Actually, I think this is her first friends party that we have gone to. We have been invited to a couple, but haven't gone for one reason or another. But she had a great time. It was a "dress up" party. They dressed up in dress up clothes and shoes. We applied make up and nail polish to their cute little fingers and toes. Then they had a little tea party. Very sweet. The twins are too cute. I always thought they were identicle because they look soooo much alike. They are not. Too weird. Then when we got home, Steve was home and his folks had just pulled up at our house. We then all went out to lunch. We came home and hung out for a while, then I proceeded to take a nap. ;) (delightful) Decided that the sisters and brother-in-laws would play poker. Today...again, nothing much. Peyton was in our room by 8:30..ugh. So we got up and ate some breakfast, hung out and I was back in bed for a nap by 10:30. (again..delightful) I took a serious nap this time. I would say a good 2 1/2 hours. I promised Steve yesterday that I would go eat chinese food with him, so we did. YUCK! Egg rolls and fried rice is all I ate. Peyton a little fried rice. So she was hungry pretty quick. ha Then out of absolute bordum and nothing else to do we ran over to Best Buy. We managed to pick out $10k worth of items in 30 mins. Will we ever be able to purchase those items???NO! We picked out a 53 inch LCD TV, a console to hold all the components, a stainless steal fridge, diswasher, microwave, stove, dishwasher and washer and dryer. hehehehe....
Oh to dream. But we did buy Peyton a new Dora movie. She was soooo thrilled.
Here is how smart and incredibly viligent in her memory she is. We went to that birthday party on Sat. morning. Then on the way home from Andi's that night, we turned right by the neighborhood that her friends house was in that we were at that morning. She said, "Daddy, if we go straight we can go to Olivia and Abigale's house." SOO funny! She does that a lot. If we go a different way home, she asks, "Mommy, where are we going, this isn't the way home."
Here are some pictures from the party she went to.

Anyway...you guys have a good week. Not much going on this week for us. Same ol' Same ol'. Gonna see if I can drum up some business, mainly.
Have a GREAT week!

nuttin' much

This picture was taken several weeks ago at a merry go round at the mall where we were waiting for her glasses to be made. I couldn't understand why she wouldn't get on a horse on the merry go round. She talks about getting on a horse and riding it all the time. So man...here's her chance! NOT! She wouldn't get on the horse. But she figured out how to spin that little car thing.

That is the only picture I have. I have sucked at taking pictures lately. This one was just one I happened to download off of my phone. I need to work on that.

Peyton has a birthday party to go to on Sat. It is her friends, Abigale and Olivia from her school. Yes, they are twins and they are identicle. I can't tell them apart. Only reason I know who it is standing in Peyton's room at school is because Olivia is the twin in her class. Abigale is in another class. They are having a dress up party. OMG! Peyton is going to LOVE it! The twins mother is the director at Peyton's school. She said that the mothers must participate as well. Oh dear. What... have Peyton paint my nails or what. ha Sounds like it will be a nice party. Reminds me..I have to go get gifts for them. Oh man...I have to buy 2 gifts. Shit! I just thought of that. ha

We have figured out a winner on how to get Peyton to do what she is supposed to do. Did I tell you about how she wouldn't clean her room??? Ok..well, after 3 days of not cleaning her room, I finally flipped out and cleaned it out and put it all in the garage. A week later, we told her that if she would pick up the "left over" toys off of her floor and pull out the ones that have hidden under the bed and put them all in a pile for us to go through, that we would give her the toys back. First try, we caught her just laying on her floor. Then we go in and nothing is done. Then like 2 items are in the pile. We told her...Ok. She is to shut the door to her playroom and she is not allowed back in. No playground, no nothing. So later that day we asked her if she wanted to try again. She said yes. So we let her give it another shot. Well, she actually started to make some progress. I went in and praised her and was so excited that she was doing it. She got so excited that I was praising her. OMG! what is wrong with me. We have been through this before where we know praise is the thing that motivates her, and for some odd reason we got away from that. Bad parents..I don't know. Soooo....I came back out and talked to steve and told him what the hell were we thinking. We have to come up with a reward system to keep her motivated. Sooo...I went in her room and got an alphabet puzzle. Put all the pieces in a baggie. So everytime she does something good, she gets to put a letter back on the puzzle. If every night before she goes to bed, her room is clean, she gets to put a piece on the puzzle. If everytime she takes her shoes off she puts them in the "shoe pile", she gets a letter. The reason for that is because she will throw her shoes in her room, toy box...or whatever suites her and we have lost 1 shoe of each pair she has. Soooo....thus the shoe pile. She is doing great with it! She is up to the letter H. Her room has gotten cleaned up every night, and shoes in the shoe pile. She has had a couple letters taken away. One was for lying. Now this is a funny story. I have let her watch cartoons in my room...for some reason...she likes to lay in my bed and watch cartoons. She came out of my room and looked at me across the room and had lipstick smeared all over her lips and face. I asked her, "Peyton, did you get in Mommy's make up?" She looked at me and said, "No Mommy, the lipstick came in your room and attacked me". LMAO! Oh God. I tried to keep a poker face on, fighting back the laughter. So I said, "Peyton, are you lying to me...tell me the truth", and she said, "Are you going to put me in time out?" And I said, "Yes, I am." She started to cry. I told her to go take a letter off of her puzzle for lying to me, and get in time out for getting into my make up. Oh gosh. this kid is a hoot! So anyway...once she fills up her puzzle all the way to Z, she gets to go to Wal Mart to pick out whatever she wants. She has been talking about daily what she is going to get. We have gone from candy to a dress, to a toy to barbie dolls and barbie clothes. I hope this works out. I want her to finish the board for the first time, so she sees the reward that she can get by doing good and doing what is expected of her. So excited I found something that is easy to do and that is actually working!

Otherwise, Steve is doing well. I guess he has lost about 36 lbs at last check. Doing well at work. We are hoping to hear about a promotion to Manager in March...keep your fingers crossed for that.

I have not been busy at all. I have 1 client I am showing. I am supposed to show him tomorrow but he hasn't called me back, so I hope he is not flaking out. I have a waterfront buyer who is in no hurry to buy, an out of town client that extended her retirement to June..so that isn't going to happen anytime soon. Hoping things are going to pick up soon.

Valentine's Day. Didn't do much. Went to a little Italian Restaurant close to home that is never busy. And we walked right in and sat down. (don't think they will be around for us to go there next year. ha) Good food. Peyton and Steve went to the father daughter dance, and then we just hung out at home with a fire going. Andi and Brian stopped by on their exciting date to Circle S and Wal Mart. LOL. While RC and Kev......nevermind. Better stop there or RC will be mean to me. LMAO. (read their blogs)

Gosh, guys. That's all I got for ya. I have to go to bed. I am going to be hating life come morning. I still have like a year and a half to worry about it, but what the hell am I going to do when Peyton starts big kid school and I have to get my ass up at 6:30 EVERY morning. Good God. I am so spoiled with my 7:45 rising a few days a week. I can do anything for a few days a week...I just don't know about every day of the week. Oy vey. Ha...oh well...I have time to figure it out. ha
Have a good rest of the week.

"Mr Slim" is doing well

Mr. Slim is my new nickname for steve. He had his lapband surgery on Monday the 9th. He came through fine. We had to be there at 5:30am. YES! My ass was up at 4:30 am!!! It was painful. I don't go to bed early, so I got about 3-4 hours of sleep. We were happy to be the first one of the day, because that means first to go home...right! NOT! After his surgery you have to meet certain milestones before you can leave. One of which, being to pee more than 100cc's. Steve absolutely could not pee. The first time was about 15cc's. That's when we found out it had to be over 100cc's. We were like "lady, we are going to be here all night". Our nurse was on duty until 9pm and Steve and I had a bet who would be going home first...him or her. I was betting on Steve, but steve just knew the pee wasn't going to come quick enough. I mean my God. He had 2 bags of saline, and was drinking 1 oz of water every half hour and NOTHING! FINALLY at about 6pm he finally did it...BARELY! THANK GOD! But once he got home he was peeing like a racehorse. Most people who have the first surgery of the day leave by 1pm...so we were way behind schedule. Needless to say...It was a VERY long day!

RC let Peyton spend the night on Sunday night so we didn't have to get her up so early. Thanks to RC and Kev. Then took her over to Andi's on their way to work. Andi kept her all day for me. So much appreciative of ya'lls help. There is no way she would have made it up at that hospital that long. Then Andi bought me and Peyton Chicken express for dinner with a nice big diet coke. It was so good and much appreciated. I was way too tired to think about what to do for dinner.

Steve is very sore. He also had a hernia fixed so that is causing him some pain too. He has 6 holes in his tummy. YUCKY! But he is getting around pretty good. Today he went without pain meds all day until about 7pm. I had a meeting this AM and showing ALL day so he took and picked up Peyton from school. Can't drive with taking the pain meds, so he managed. What a guy! Thank God...Not sure what I would have done today without him here helping. Probably would have had to hit up Andi. ;) Aren't you glad, Andi. ha

Steve has now lost 30 pounds. He lost 25 pounds on the Optifast diet for the 2 weeks. Then tonight he weighed and has lost another 5 since Monday. He has to be on a liquids for this week. He had some potato soup, chicken broth, a pumpkin pie concoction that his mom made and was good he said. He had pudding last night. So he's just happy to be eating (drinking) decent food. It's funny. I made his potatoe soup tonight and he said it was spicy. I added some pepper but that's it! He said, "seriously, it's spicey..taste it." I did. It had absolutely no flavor. Not spicey. Tasted like really runny mashed potatoes to me. I think his taste buds are ultra sensitive or something. Weird.

Anyway, thanks to you all for asking about him and keeping up with his condition. He is doin really well and looking forward to seeing his progress and living a whole new life. It will be awesome for him.

Otherwise, just juggeling taking care of him, working, and Peyton. So it's been a busy week. I have had a headache I can't get rid of for 2 days now. It is driving me crazy. I think it's hormonal..so let's hope it goes away tomorrow.

Happy 16th birthday to Ashley Tisdale. Happy 29th ;) birthday to Aunti S. Actually it was several days ago...but ya know we love ya. Hope it was great for both of you.

Peyton is doing well. We are trying to keep an eye on her diet. We weighed her the other day and she is 61lbs. When I told RC this her eyes got freaky big and kind of in shock. I guess most 2nd to 3rd graders weigh pretty close to that. It's not that she's fat. Yes, chubby...but not fat. She is just a big girl. She is as tall as most 1st graders and really big boned. Thick is a good word. I just want to watch her diet because she is a candy nutt! She asks for candy all day every day. She asks for food all day every day. She wants to eat every 5 mins. I am going to get some grapes and keep a bowl of them in the fridge and she can snack on that as often as she wants. But we are knocking out about 3/4 of the amount of candy she was eating. A piece of candy every other day or so. (As I write this I am watching how they make Hershey bars....lol)

She is doing well in school. No problems. She talks about a kid there named Seth. I guess he's a trouble maker. She tells me he throws socks at her and told her she had ugly eyes. He apparently gets put in time out a lot. I talked to her teacher about it to make sure he isn't picking on her, and she said he is just mean to everybody..he is not specific. Always one in every group.

Otherwise...I need some business people. I have a couple of people working, but nothing that is going to bring me some immediate income. So come one...help me out and send me some business. I sent most of you, that live around here, and email tonight about the federal tax credit being offered for first time buyers. Let me know if you know of anybody that is thinking about buying and I can contact them and let them know about the interest rates and the tax credit. Seriously. Please help me out if you can. I have no closings this month, and am starting to get worried about March since I don't have anybody going yet.

Anyway...Other than that...nothing else to say. Sorry no pics. I haven't taken any in a while. I will get some taken and post some, hopefully, next time. Ya'll have a WONDERful Valentine's Day and a great weekend.

Busy, Busy

These are pics of our "snow day".
Peyton and I slid down the driveway on a cardboard box. We have a steep driveway so it makes for a good hill to slide down. We enjoyed the ice for the small amount of time we saw it. It was pretty much melted by noon that day.
All has been well here. Steve has lost now 21 pounds in 10 days!!!!! On that optifast diet. 2 weeks of the liquid diet before he can have surgery. Wow! That stuff works for sure. ha But I just think if one was to do that as their diet, once they eat real food the weight would come back on. My theory anyway.
So I have a 16-17 year old with really bad teeth. Chloe always has had bad teeth. We have gotten her teeth cleaned numerous times. It is something that looks good for about 2 weeks then it looks like crap again. They get really infected looking, and I really do think they hurt her. I have been hesitant to get them cleaned...for one...it costs $500, and second do you put a 17 year old dog under to have her teeth cleaned. I kind of think we should because I think it is affecting her quality of life. What are your thoughts?
Anyway...just thought I would post some pictures and touch base. We are here and hanging in. I am at work right now and fixing to go show. So I will blog again later.
I am on Facebook.com now if you want to be my friend. ;)
I am trying to post a video for ya...Have tried 3 times and it isn't working. So I will try again another day.
Take care and have a great day!
